Radiant floor heating warms a room from the surface you actually stand on, spreading gentle, even heat instead of blowing hot air around. Under tile, stone, wood or laminate, an ultra-thin heating cable or a ready-to-lay mat does the work, controlled by a floor sensor and thermostat.
For renovations, thin-profile cables add only a millimetre or two to the floor build-up, so door heights and transitions stay intact. For new builds, in-screed cables store and release heat slowly for steady comfort at low running cost.
The specification choices — cable spacing, output per square metre, sensor placement — decide how quickly a floor responds and how even it feels underfoot. Getting them right is the difference between a floor that merely takes the chill off and one that becomes the primary heat source.
