Automotive Wires

Automotive Wires

For wiring harnesses and electrical systems in automotive applications

WIPE hotwire Automotive Wires are designed for wiring harnesses and electrical systems in automotive applications. The range comprises 8 variants, available in PVC insulation types (AV, AVS, AVSS, FLRY-A, and FLRY-B) and XLPE insulation types (SXL, GXL, and TXL). Temperature ratings are 80°C, 105°C, and 125°C, with a 60V voltage rating across all variants. All variants are IEC 60332-1 flame-rated, providing automotive manufacturers with a single source for wiring harness cable across standard, thin-wall, and ultra-thin-wall constructions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are automotive wires used for?

Automotive wires are used in wiring harnesses and electrical systems, including those for motorcycles and complex wiring harnesses.

What insulation types are available?

The range covers PVC insulation types (AV, AVS, AVSS, FLRY-A, FLRY-B) and XLPE insulation types (SXL, GXL, TXL).

What temperature ratings are available?

Temperature ratings of 80°C, 105°C and 125°C are available, with a 60 V voltage rating across all variants.

What conductor sizes are available?

PVC variants are available from 0.2 to 25 sq mm, and XLPE variants from 22 to 6 AWG, in ABC and ABC/ATC conductor types.

What wall thickness options are available?

Standard, thin and ultra-thin wall options are available, with insulation thicknesses ranging from 0.20 to 1.0 mm.

What makes FLRY-A different from other variants?

FLRY-A is a single-core construction with a symmetrical conductor structure, designed for high-temperature automotive conditions.

Why choose an XLPE variant over PVC?

XLPE variants are suited to applications requiring higher heat resistance, smaller diameter and minimal weight.

Are automotive wires flame rated?

Yes, all variants are IEC 60332-1 flame-rated.
